As we celebrate 10 years since XLarn's debut on Steam, we're thrilled to share a special anniversary post that takes you on a journey through our mobile game development history. Alongside this nostalgic trip down memory lane, we'll also be releasing some exciting updates and patch notes for the Steam version of Version 23.
Mobile Game Development Evolution
Over the past decade, XLarn has come a long way from its humble beginnings as a hobby project to becoming a fully-fledged mobile game development powerhouse. Our journey began even before the Steam release in 2015, when we started working on a mobile prototype for Android and iOS devices. With no prior experience in mobile game development, we were able to create a functional prototype within just a few months of development.
From Hobby Project to Multi-Platform Release
As XLarn evolved from a hobby project into a full-fledged game, our priorities shifted towards creating a multi-platform PC release with the help of Steam Greenlight. We shelved the mobile prototype and AppStore version to focus on bringing the game to life on PC. Fast-forward 10 years, and we're proud to announce that one of our earliest ideas for XLarn has finally come to fruition – a fully working mobile version released for Android and iOS phones and tablets.
Patch Notes and Updates
In addition to the mobile release, we've also been hard at work updating the Steam version with some exciting new features. The latest patch notes include:
- 17 New Achievements
- Difficulty-based challenges (1-100)
- New achievements: Heavy Drinker, Wealthy Man, Hoarder, Millionair, Billionair, and more!
- Minor bug fixes
Looking Back on Our Journey
As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we're grateful for the opportunity to look back on our journey. We've included some nostalgic screenshots from previous versions of XLarn, showcasing how far we've come.
Here's a glimpse into the game's early days:
Older versions of XLarn featured a village with little detail and lower quality graphics, using standard Windows GUI. The old caverns bring back memories of our childhood gaming experiences.
A New Era in Mobile Game Development
With the release of the mobile version, we're excited to announce that further updates will be released simultaneously across all platforms. We're committed to modernizing the game further and rebalancing its mechanics. Stay tuned for more news on our wiki page, which is set to launch soon!

As always, we value your feedback and would love to hear from you! If you encounter any issues after updating, please reach out to us via email: [email protected] or the Steam community discussion board. We're committed to helping you and fixing any problems as quickly as possible.
