Nepal has made a significant impact in the global mobile game development scene with Horaa Esports becoming the country's first-ever team to qualify for the prestigious PUBG MOBILE World Cup x Esports World Cup (PMWC x EWC). This remarkable achievement marks a new era for Nepalese gamers, paving the way for further success in the competitive world of mobile gaming.
The team's journey began with a stellar second-place finish at the 2026 PUBG MOBILE Super League Central & South Asia (PMSL CSA) Spring tournament. Held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, this event saw Horaa Esports face off against 19 top-tier teams from the region, showcasing their exceptional skills and teamwork.
With a Grand Finals total of 139 points, Horaa Esports demonstrated their strength, consistency, and strategic gameplay throughout the tournament. The team's victory was all the more impressive considering they were representing Nepal on the international stage for the first time.
The six-player squad, comprising JiGGL3, SkY, NoFear, SleepY, HaitDami, and MafiaNinja, worked together seamlessly to secure their spot at the PMWC x EWC. Their performance was marked by smart rotations, high-elimination games, and strong finishes, earning them a prize pool of NPR 2.84 million.
SkY and NoFear, both veterans in the scene, stood out particularly during the tournament. SkY even earned the "Most Eliminations in a Day" award, further solidifying their impressive skills.
While Horaa Esports was the only Nepalese team to qualify for the PMWC x EWC, DRS Gaming and Tribe Aeromacy also made it to the PMSL CSA Spring Grand Finals, finishing 12th and 11th respectively. Their presence in the top 16 highlighted Nepal's growing depth in mobile gaming talent.
The tournament itself saw an impressive global viewership of over 14 million, with more than 140,000 peak viewers tuning in from Nepal alone. This remarkable figure demonstrates the immense popularity of mobile game development and esports in Nepal.
As Horaa Esports prepares for their biggest stage yet – the PMWC x EWC, set for July in Riyadh – they will be one of just three teams representing the Central & South Asia region. This achievement puts Nepal right alongside some of the world's elite PUBG MOBILE squads, marking a new era for mobile game development and esports in the country.
