Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) is a leading integrated sports and entertainment company, owning and operating seven major and minor sports teams. As a pioneer in mobile game development, MSE seeks talented professionals to join their team as Senior Software Engineers.

As a key member of the Monumental Basketball Strategy, Research, and Development department, you will be responsible for building innovative software systems that inform Washington Mystics coaches, scouts, executives, and other basketball operations staff. With your expertise in open-source backend frameworks like Rails, Django, Next.js, and advanced knowledge of Python, Prefect, and DBT, you will drive software strategy for all basketball operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building the Mystics' software engineering infrastructure in a sustainable way to support basketball operations going forward
  • Working with key cross-department partners (front office executives, coaches, scouts, salary cap strategists, medical/performance directors, etc.) to build products, implement feedback, and efficiently fix bugs
  • Other duties as assigned

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Advanced literacy in open-source backend frameworks such as Rails, Django, Next.js, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of Python, Prefect, and DBT
  • Experience with a variety of transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) databases
  • Diverse set of infrastructure experience with both PaaS and IaaS platforms
  • Experience implementing project management tools to run the software development process
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript, with experience in Svelte (preferred), React, or Angular
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Familiarity with agile development frameworks
