Department Descriptions
The NFL offers various internship opportunities across different departments, each providing a unique chance to explore all aspects of professional football. From broadcasting and brand marketing to labor finance and community relations, there's something for everyone.
Broadcasting
In the Broadcasting department, interns will assist with programming and gameday operations projects, ratings research and analysis, screening of video content, editing of seasonal resource materials, and other offseason projects as needed. Responsibilities include assisting with game schedule-related research projects, managing updates to the 2024 Broadcast Fact Book, analyzing competitive programming, sponsor integration, and commercial formats.
Brand Marketing
In the Brand Marketing department, interns will support key campaigns and projects that sustain NFL brand affinity and fandom throughout the offseason. This includes planning marketing campaign launches, reviewing creative assets, media plans, and messaging development. Interns will also gain experience across several areas of the NFL's brand marketing work, with a focus on Events/League Tentpoles.
Club Labor & Finance
In the Club & Labor Finance department, interns will gain an understanding of business and economics of the Clubs and League, as well as a more in-depth understanding of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Responsibilities include assisting with preparation of Agreed Upon Procedure audit workpapers to satisfy CBA NFLPA audit requirements, preparing for NFLPA Club audits and NFLPA League audits, and compiling financial data.
Communications
In the Communications & Public Affairs department, interns will write and edit media materials, brainstorm storytelling ideas, assist with creating league-wide publications, and begin building media relationships. Responsibilities also include monitoring press coverage, creating media briefings, and distributing them to league personnel.
Community Relations & Social Responsibility
In this department, interns will support League cause initiatives (NFL PLAY 60, Crucial Catch, Salute to Service, and Inspire Change), including work connected to the NFL Foundation. Responsibilities include overseeing NFL Community Relations social media accounts, posting weekly community outreach events, and driving awareness to key league cause initiatives.
Qualifications
To be eligible for these exciting opportunities, applicants must:
- Be an undergraduate junior graduating Winter 2026 or Spring 2026 with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0.
- Be proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
- Show particular interest in the Sports, Entertainment, and/or Media industries (a plus).
- Possess strong organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and a strong work ethic.
