In 2018, TONS, a Kuwaiti food delivery service, approached us to revolutionize their grocery delivery business. They wanted to develop a solution that would ease shopping for both users and the company, standing out from competitors by eliminating human errors and providing high order customization.

The Challenge

With a strong desire to grow, TONS faced a unique challenge: Kuwaiti citizens cannot link their credit cards to mobile apps, making refunds impossible. To solve this problem, we needed to create an innovative solution that would meet the business goals while catering to local regulations.

Our Solution

We developed a comprehensive fitness app (yes, you read that right – food delivery is all about fitness!) that supports English and Arabic languages, complying with local acquiring regulations. The app allows users to browse, order, and track groceries from different stores, receive refunds, and get in touch with in-store shoppers.

Tracking and Feedback

Users track the delivery on the map, seeing all changes made by the shopper. After delivery, the app collects feedback about the service and delivered items, allowing users to rate quality and availability.

TONS Credits: The Game-Changer

To solve the refund problem, we introduced TONS Credits – an in-app currency that can be used to pay for orders and refunds. If an item is out of stock, TONS returns the price difference in Credits, which users can spend on their next order. App bonuses also add up as Credits.

Shopper Management

Shoppers mark the beginning and end of their shifts, view performance statistics, request time off, and manage orders. They can contact customers to inform them about promotions or out-of-stock items.

The Result

We developed an Android app from scratch and upgraded the iOS app from a pilot to a stable version. The project was handed over to TONS's in-house development team for maintenance, with our support available for complex tasks.
