As the world becomes increasingly busy, cooking has become a necessary skill for many professionals and families alike. With the rise of meal delivery services, it's clear that people are looking for ways to simplify their meal preparation process. However, existing solutions often require users to spend time searching for recipes online, ordering ingredients separately, and then preparing meals - a daunting task for even the most skilled cooks.

The Problem:

Busy professionals, students, and home cooks alike face the challenge of deciding what to cook, sourcing ingredients, and spending valuable time in the kitchen. Despite the abundance of cooking content on YouTube and recipe delivery services, the process remains complex and time-consuming. It's no wonder that 65% of users prefer homemade meals over ordering from a restaurant.

The Solution:

Introducing Frecipe, an innovative mobile app startup idea that simplifies meal preparation by offering curated recipe boxes delivered directly to your doorstep. With Frecipe, users can browse various categories of food cuisine, order their favorite recipes, and receive all the necessary ingredients and instructions in one convenient package.

Design Process:

To tackle this problem, I followed a design strategy focused on understanding the user's needs, conducting secondary research, and outlining a business model that addresses these pain points. My research objectives included identifying the main problems users face during cooking, understanding how often working professionals cook, and determining what users prefer - homemade meals or ordering from a restaurant.

Key Findings:

My research revealed that users struggle with deciding what to cook and sourcing ingredients, while 65% of users prefer homemade meals. Working professionals mostly cook for breakfast and dinner, and the majority of users rely on social media for cooking inspiration.

App Overview:

Frecipe is an app that sells curated recipe boxes and delivers them directly to users' doorsteps. Each box contains pre-defined ingredients and a recipe card, making it easy for users to cook their favorite meals at home. With Frecipe, users can browse various categories of food cuisine, order their favorite recipes, and receive all the necessary ingredients and instructions in one convenient package.

Design Strategy:

To design an effective app, I developed a comprehensive strategy that included understanding user needs, conducting research, outlining a business model, and creating a prototype. My goal was to bridge the gap between cooking food and buying ingredients by offering users a seamless meal preparation experience.

Prototype Video:

To bring Frecipe to life, I created a prototype video showcasing how the app would work for users. The video highlights the app's key features, including the home screen, product screens, cart section, and meal box subscription model.
