The National Football League (NFL) is seeking a talented Sr. Manager to lead the development of advanced analytics and data science projects that drive business decisions and enhance fan engagement. As a key member of the central data and analytics team, you will be responsible for aggregating, analyzing, and reporting on data related to football operations and game viewership.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build statistical models and machine learning algorithms that inform strategic initiatives. Your expertise will help develop new metrics and KPIs that measure the competitiveness, equity, and excitement of NFL games, as well as predict viewer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sr. Manager in Swift App Development Opportunities in Sports Analytics, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Building statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze data related to football operations and game viewership
  • Collaborating with media reporting and broadcast departments to develop metrics for game viewership and projected viewership
  • Curating and enhancing the NFL's Football Operations data analytics projects, including data cleansing, analysis, and reporting
  • Developing new and relevant metrics for cross-sectional usage across the league
  • Participating in data and analytics events, such as the Big Data Bowl

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 7+ years of experience building statistical models in sports
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in statistics, data science, computer science, or related fields
  • Advanced knowledge of R programming language
  • Basic knowledge of Python programming language
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to analyze highly sensitive and confidential data

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be highly valued:

  • Master's degree or higher in statistics, data science, computer science, or other related fields
  • Experience with tidymodels package in R
  • Experience building Shiny apps
  • Advanced knowledge of Python programming language
  • Understanding of Nielsen viewership and media math
  • Familiarity with SQL

Salary/Pay Range

The NFL offers a competitive salary range for this position, from $130,000 to $180,000 USD.
