The wait is almost over for fans of The Legend of Zelda series. With the upcoming release of Nintendo Switch 2 and its accompanying ports, Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild, players can finally repair equipment via a mobile app bonus – courtesy of Zelda Notes.
This innovative app, part of the Nintendo App ecosystem, will seamlessly connect with Switch 2 Editions, allowing players to navigate and leave notes on an interactive game map. But that's not all – users can also share creations in Tears of the Kingdom, unlock achievements, and more. The possibilities are endless!
One of the most exciting features of Zelda Notes is its daily bonus system, which rewards players with a random selection of items, including equipment repairs. This much-needed addition addresses one of the most divisive features in both games: item decay. In Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, many weapons degrade over time, forcing players to seek alternative options.
While some fans have discovered obscure methods to repair certain items, this new system offers a more accessible solution. By introducing equipment repairs, Zelda Notes has the potential to significantly alter game balance – but it's worth noting that these rewards are randomly generated and can only be rolled once every 24 hours.
As part of their subscription or separate purchase, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members will gain access to upgraded versions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. These enhanced editions will feature improved resolution and frame rates, HDR support, as well as the new Zelda Notes feature. This means that players can enjoy a more seamless gaming experience across both their console and mobile devices.
The Switch 2 Editions are set to release alongside Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, bringing with them a host of exciting features and improvements. Stay tuned for our full impressions of Nintendo Switch 2, available now!
