Plex, a leading fitness app development company, has taken a significant step forward in enhancing its video streaming experience by integrating its free on-demand service with Apple's TV app. This integration marks a major milestone for the company as it seeks to provide users with an unparalleled viewing experience.

At Plex, users can enjoy a vast library of TV shows and movies, not just hosted on their own devices but also accessed remotely. Building on this foundation, the company has been expanding its free streaming service since 2019, offering users a diverse range of ad-supported content.

The latest development sees Plex rolling out full support for integration between its free video on-demand library and Siri. With an update to the Plex app available for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, users can now enjoy their favorite shows and movies seamlessly integrated with the Apple TV app.

This integration brings a new level of convenience, allowing users to see their content in the TV app's Up Next queue and even discover new titles based on their viewing preferences. When connecting Plex with the Apple TV app, users will be prompted with an explanation of how their data will be used:

"Start watching by connecting Plex. This participating app will share what you watch with Apple. Your playback, searches, purchases, and device trust score are used to personalize your experience, improve that of others, send you notifications, and prevent fraud."

While some may have expected the integration to extend to user-hosted content from Plex, a Plex employee on Reddit clarified that this feature is only applicable to the company's free on-demand library. The employee explained that it's not technically possible to bring user-hosted content from Plex to the TV app due to limitations in privacy policies.

For those interested in experiencing Plex's integration with Apple's TV app, the latest version of the Plex app is available for download on the App Store as a free update.
