What We Launched in Spring

We built Proton Drive with your input in mind, and this spring was no exception. Our top priority was addressing the features you asked for most, starting with Albums in Photos. With Albums, you can now organize your photos and videos into private, end-to-end encrypted collections, making it easier to protect your memories from unwanted snooping.

We also introduced a new timeline view in Photos, allowing you to quickly find specific images or relive cherished moments. Additionally, filters like marking favorites made it simpler to locate the photos that matter most to you. On the macOS front, we boosted upload and download speeds with Proton Drive 2.0, while introducing Online Only and Make Available Offline settings for greater flexibility.

New Features on the Horizon

This summer, we're accelerating performance improvements in Photos and Docs, ensuring a smoother experience across devices. You can expect faster loading times, whether scrolling through years of images or jumping between documents. We're also laying the groundwork for new tools that support private productivity, so you can stay focused and efficient.

Meanwhile, our software development kit (SDK) is getting a major update, preparing it for public release and paving the way for the upcoming Linux Drive app – a fan favorite on the community wishlist.
