Hello, fellow tech enthusiasts! Today, we're excited to announce the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 28020.1362, packed with innovative features and improvements that will revolutionize your mobile app experience.

Gaming: The Full-Screen Experience Just Got a Whole Lot Better

We're taking handheld gaming to the next level by bringing the full-screen experience (FSE) to more Windows 11 devices. This means you'll enjoy a console-style interface with the Xbox app, providing a distraction-free and seamless gaming experience. To get started, simply navigate to Settings > Gaming > Full screen experience, set Xbox as your home app, and turn it on from Task View or Game Bar.

Click to Do: Streamlined Context Menu for Enhanced Productivity

Copilot+ PCs are getting an update that simplifies the context menu, making it easier to access frequently used actions like Copy, Save, Share, and Open. Plus, whenever you encounter a large image or table on your screen, the context menu will automatically pop up, giving you quick access to the actions and results you need.

Agent in Settings: Intuitive Experiences for Copilot+ PCs

We're introducing new experiences that make it easier to modify settings in both search and recommended settings. With Recommend Settings, you'll enjoy faster changes by showing an inline agent action for recently modified settings. The Search feature has also been improved, providing more available results in the search fly out to help you discover what you're looking for.

Studio Effects: Bringing AI-Powered Camera Enhancements to More Devices

We're working on bringing the Windows Studio Effects experience from integrated laptop cameras to a broader range of camera hardware. This means you'll be able to use AI-powered camera enhancements with an additional, alternative camera – such as a USB webcam or your laptop's built-in rear camera – on supported Copilot+ PCs.

Drag Tray: Seamless File Movement and Sharing

If you're an Insider with the Drag Tray feature, you'll enjoy improved file movement and sharing capabilities. This includes multi-file sharing, intelligently surfacing more relevant apps, and enabling seamless file movement to a chosen folder. You can also turn Drag Tray on/off from Settings > System > Nearby sharing.

File Explorer: Dark Mode Enhancements and More

We're making improvements to the dark mode experience in File Explorer, starting with key actions like copy, move, and delete dialogs. This means you'll enjoy a consistent dark mode experience throughout your file management tasks. Plus, we've added the ability to turn Drag Tray on/off from Settings > System > Nearby sharing.

Mobile Device Settings: Simplified Management

You can now directly add and manage your mobile devices from Settings on your Windows PC by navigating to "Mobile Devices" under the Bluetooth & Devices section. This page allows you to view your mobile devices, add new mobile devices, and manage features such as using your device as a connected camera or accessing your device's files in File Explorer.

Desktop Spotlight: Enhanced Context Menu

We're trying out a change that adds "Learn more about this background" and "Next desktop background" to the context menu when you click on your desktop if you have Windows Spotlight chosen as your desktop background under Settings > Personalization > Background.

Input: Improved Keyboard Settings and More

We're moving more keyboard settings from Control Panel to Settings, including character repeat delay/rate and cursor blink rate. We've also improved keyboard backlight performance on supported HID-compliant keyboards, making it easier to use your devices in low-light environments.

By embracing AI-powered innovations like these, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible with mobile apps in Windows 11. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to unlock the future of mobile app development!
