Sleeper is seeking a talented Data Scientist to drive decision-making through rigorous analysis, scalable pipelines, and impactful insights.
What You'll Do
As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines to ensure reliable access to core product and business data. You'll define and develop core metrics to measure product performance, feature adoption, user engagement, and strategic initiatives. Your expertise will also be needed to build and maintain interactive dashboards in Tableau (or similar BI tools) to deliver clear, actionable insights to product and business stakeholders.
In addition to these responsibilities, you'll design and analyze experiments (A/B tests) to evaluate new features and product changes. You'll translate complex data into clear, actionable insights using statistical analysis and visual storytelling. And, you'll collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, designers, and executives to drive impact through data.
Must-Have Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong command of SQL and Python (or similar data-focused languages). You should be proficient in Tableau or similar BI tools. Proven experience with data modeling, pipeline design, and working with large-scale datasets is also essential. Your solid understanding of experimental design, causal inference, and statistical analysis will come in handy when analyzing complex data sets.
Nice-to-Have Experience
While not required, prior experience in a product analytics, business intelligence, or data science function can be beneficial. Additionally, experience working with Marketing teams to design promotional strategies, segment and target users, and measure effectiveness of campaigns could be valuable. Experience working with large-scale product usage data to uncover patterns in user behavior, engagement, retention, and conversion is also desirable.
Compensation
We believe in fair and equitable pay. In this location, a reasonable estimate of the base salary range for new hires is between $75,000 USD to $175,000 USD, plus benefits including Medical, Dental, PTO, and 401k.
